10. In this project, we arm to study the uplift process of the LPS through geomorphic stratigraphy methods. Firstly, we investigated the geomorphic - stratigraphy features in the field, based on comprehension of geological, topographic maps and previous studies, then outline the distribution of different leveled landforms such as planation, pediment, river terraces in the LPS area. There are two levels planation surfaces and one piedmont and several terraces. Secondly, The formation age of these leveled landforms is contrained by paleomagnetism, fission track dating. The main planation surface disintegrated at Mid-late Miocene time, since then, another planation surface developed till 3.4Ma, and the piedmont formed at 1.8Ma. Thirdly, in order to reveal important tectonic-climate events, proxies of paleoenvironment such as magnetic susceptibility, has been analyzed in several typical Cenozoic sections.
